Lo! and Behold! Here is the very suave , very stylish and the very “bold” -BlackBerry Bold 9900. RIM unveiled this smartphone recently and the whispered and leaked out specs turned out to be more or less true!
The phone comes with an alias name of the BlackBerry Bold Touch- it is a touchscreen candybar phone, that has BlackBerry's signature feature- the QWERTY keyboard. It has a smooth stainless steel frame and a glass weave back panel, which is the reason why RIM has classified the phone with a "lustrous exterior".
And as we are talking about the looks, you may as well know that this smartphone has redefined the word “slim”. According to the company- Te Bold 9900 is just 10.5mm thick – which means that it's the slimmest BlackBerry yet. Well good for RIM, but its competition brands are ahead in the sleek factor. Namely, the iPhone 4- which is sitting at a trim 9.3mm.

So, what are the specs of this sleek gadget? The main force is the 1.2Ghz processor (no, it's not dual-core like the Samsung Galaxy S2or the HTC Sensation). However, it does come with a built-in NFC connectivity, compass and 720p video playback.
Now, on to the brains of the widget- it comes with the BlackBerry OS 7.0, which supports faster browsing, voice-activated universal handset search and HTML5 support.
RIM's co-CEO Mike Lazaridis said- "The new BlackBerry Bold smartphones and BlackBerry 7 OS are inspired by millions of customers around the world who want the ultimate combination of performance, functionality and style.
"These fully-loaded and beautifully crafted smartphones offer a highly refined user experience with blazingly fast performance, a brilliant touchscreen and an outstanding typing experience."
Wellm Mr. Lazaridis, we will be as ecstatic as you, when we get our hands on the phone!
RIM, was in a launching spree as it also unveiled a CDMA version of the Bold- named BlackBerry Bold 9930.
So, we have to wait till this summer for the phone to reach our shores, till then, have fun with your BlackBerry 8520 Curve!
